We’re excited to share the latest version of the Pragma engine, which includes a number of new capabilities and improvements across matchmaking, the Pragma order system, and player data management within the operator portal. See below for highlights with full release notes here: January 2025 Release.
Matchmake With Friends While In-Game
Pragma now supports a new major matchmaking flow familiar in live-service party-based genres such as MMOs, Looter Shooters and Island-to-Island oriented games.
Players can queue for matchmaking while in an active game instance.
Players can join multiple game instances simultaneously, enabling a wide range of new game flows.
For example, in a game like Destiny 2, players can party up, each play different instances/planets, and simultaneously matchmake for a raid without being locked into a single activity.
Order System Improvements
The updated order and fulfillment system makes it easier for studios to manage transactions across multiple platforms and product types:
In addition to supporting virtual currency and consumable entitlements, revocations are now possible across Steam, Twitch, Epic, Xbox, and PlayStation.
New tools for refunds, chargebacks, and entitlement corrections make it even easier to manage the customer experience.
Expanded entitlement support for durables and multi-sku bundles and deluxe editions.
Player Data Management Enhancements (Operator Portal)
The latest updates to player data tools focus on giving developers and support teams better visibility and control over player information:
A new detailed view of player data is now available directly in the operator portal.
Player data can also be modified directly using the operator session type; studios can author custom operations for e.g. customer support teams.
Nullable data types enable "1-of" patterns for use cases like player state, selected items, or abilities.
