We’re excited to share the latest version of the Pragma engine, which introduces our new Meta Quest VR authentication integration, simplified players events for improved matchmaking, and more enhancements to the Operator & Player Portals. See below for highlights with full release notes here: March 2025 Release.

Meta Quest Authentication Now Available

Building a VR game comes with both unique and traditional challenges of making an online game – from tracking player progression to managing identity across multiple sessions. With our new Meta Quest authentication support, developers can now seamlessly integrate Meta Quest login into their games using Pragma engine. This ensures that player accounts are consistently tracked, reducing friction in identity management and providing a smooth onboarding experience for VR players.

  • Player authentication and identity management for Meta Quest VR games.

  • Track player progression seamlessly across multiple sessions and platforms.

  • Works with Pragma’s existing cross play and progression systems.

See Set Up Identity Providers for details.

Dynamic Server Link/Unlink Capability for Matchmaking

You can now dynamically link or unlink from game servers from player game instances, reducing unnecessary costs on idle servers.  For example, in a game like Destiny 2, after players from distinct planets (in this example an “Island”) are matched together in a raid (new game server, in this example an “Expedition”), you now have the ability to unlink and spin down each of the players’ individual game servers, thus saving on server costs during the party’s raid event. After the raid is complete, you can then spin up each player’s game servers for respective instances.

Operator & Player Portal Updates

Also in our March release, we’ve added more customization features to the Operator portal for an enhanced developer experience:

  • New option for players to unlink their own accounts in the Player Portal. Players can now fully manage their accounts, including linking and unlinking providers such as Steam, Twitch, or Xbox.

  • Operator Portal has new navigation and customization options. We redesigned the Operator Portal navigation and added new customization options for custom panels.

A great underlying platform is essential in bringing players together. Pragma's technology lets us focus on the creative side of game development while offloading much of the complexity of shipping at scale.
